Genae McAffee was presented with a golden gavel at her final Mackay school board meeting on Jan. 15. With McAffee is school board Chairman Jake Johnson.

Carrie Boucher donated to the Challis School Endowment Scholarship.

Rep. Bundy receives ag honor
Rep. Matt Bundy, R-Mountain Home, who represents District 8 in the Idaho House of Representatives, received the ag all-star award from the Food Producers of Idaho.
The award was given in recognition of Bundy’s support of Idaho’s agriculture interests during the 2023 legislative session. Bundy also received the award for his legislative work in 2022.
Mackay school board member honored
Genae McAffee attended her final Mackay school board meeting on Jan. 15, choosing to retire from the board after a decade as a trustee.
McAffee was appointed to the school board in 2013 and had filed for office each election year since then.
She brought 26 years of experience with the Mackay school district to her board position. She worked as the school district business manager and clerk for 24 years beginning in 1986 and then worked as a grant writer for the district for about two years.
